Taking backups in any area of IT and networking is an important step and backing up your UniFi Controller is especially important. If disaster strikes, the inconvenience of getting the UniFi devices back online can be quite large.

With our UniFi, UISP and Omada servers we perform daily backups of your server. If you need to reset your controller, you can download one from a previous date from app.hostifi.com. We store the last 30 days of backups for you to access.

How to take a manual backup

Log into your UniFi Controller and click on Settings

Then to System

Then click on Backups

There is the option to download a backup file manually. At a later date, if required this can be restored from the same place

You have the option of downloading one of many backups, UniFi does store a number of historical backups if so required.

You can also choose to include any data such as clients and traffic history. For simplicity and speed, Settings Only is a good choice.

HostiFi
