Learn how to use the official UniFi iOS or Android app to access your HostiFi hosted UniFi controller and check your network from wherever you are. There are two different methods to get your controller online and we'll explore those here.
How to add controller manually
iOS
First thing to do is go to the App Store and search UniFi. If you can't find it manually, here is a direct link.
Press on the device switcher and tap the plus icon in the top right
The app will then continue to scan its local area, but will show a different screen after 10 seconds.
Once it cannot find a local controller, it'll show the following screen. Tap on "Other setup options" to continue.
Next, select "Set up a connection by IP address"
In the next screen, enter a display name, your HostiFi server name, username and password, then tap "Log In" in the upper right corner.
If needed, your login details can be found from app.hostifi.com.
*Username is case-sensitive
Android
First thing to do is go to the Play Store and search UniFi. If you can't find it manually, here is a direct link.
Press on the device switcher and tap the plus icon in the top right
The app will then continue to scan its local area, but will show a different screen after 10 seconds.
Next, select "Advanced manual IP address configuration"
In the next screen, enter a display name, your HostiFi server name, username and password, then tap "Log In" in the upper right corner.
If needed, your login details can be found from app.hostifi.com.

Troubleshooting
If you are having issues connecting to your HostiFi server in the app, it could be for a few reasons.
"Something went wrong... Direct access connection to this console could not be established."
Make sure you don't have https:// in your "IP Address / URL"
"Something went wrong... The username or password is incorrect."
You can find your temporary login credentials at app.hostifi.com - or try a password reset from the UniFi controller.
How to add controller via SSO
An easier way to get your HostiFi UniFi controller connected to your UniFi app is to connect it to Ubiquiti's SSO service.
However, the downside to using this is when Ubiquiti has cloud outages, you won't be able to access the controller.
First, make sure your UniFi Controller is connected to the Ubiquiti SSO service using our guide here.
Then, simply log into the UniFi app using the same SSO credentials and it will be available in the list of devices.
HostiFi
HostiFi provides hosting for both Ubiquiti and TP-Link software-defined-networking (SDN) applications, with servers for UniFi, UISP and Omada. We also offer professional networking consulting, with HostiFi Pro.
