Ubiquiti added the UniFi Auto-Link with UniFi Network 7.0, and this allows certain devices to automatically connect to the UniFi network such as IoT accessories that Ubiquiti makes.

If you want fast and reliable UniFi hosting, check out HostiFi with fast support, regular backups, managed updates and prices from just $9 per month.

In previous versions, enabling the UniFi Auto-Link feature would turn on a hidden Element-xxxxxx” SSID, but now it turns on an hidden SSID with no name.

What does this do?

Certain devices like the UniFi Talk ATA, UniFi EV Charger and the G3, G4 and G6 Instant cameras wouldn't be the easiest type of device to connect to a wireless network.

Most of these devices don't have screens to type passwords in and if you already have UniFi access points, why not utilise those in a way that makes getting these devices online easier?

Should I leave it enabled?

Once the accessory is added to the network, then this can be disabled. If you happen to be adding lots of new cameras, then it can left enabled.
