On November 16th 2023, Ubiquiti released 1.6.0 for the UISP Switch and Switch Pro which brought support for a local GUI. In this guide, we'll go over how to manage VLANs using both the UISP Controller GUI and the local GUI on the UISP Switch.

UISP Controller Method

First, log into your UISP controller and select your UISP Switch

In the pop out menu, select the "See old device detail" option as currently in the UISP application there are some settings in the old style UI that are due to be moved over.

Next, select "VLANS" in the left hand menu

To create a new VLAN, enter in a VLAN ID number and click "Create VLAN"

To assign VLANs to the ports on the UISP Switch, use the eight square boxes and cycle through the models, T, U and E and choose which VLANs are assigned to each port.

Note: Only one VLAN can be untagged at a time per port.

UISP Switch Local GUI Method

The UISP Switch has recently added a local GUI, so we can also manage the device without using the UISP Application.

First, log into your UISP Switch and click on the VLAN tab on the left hand side.

Then, in the top corner use the 'New VLAN ID' box to type in a new VLAN and click create.

Finally, in this screen you can manage the VLANs for the UISP Switch. U is for untagged, T for tagged and E for excluded.
