UXG Pro initial setup
Plug the UXG Pro into power and wait for it to boot up.
Next, you will see the following message for around 10 seconds.
By default, the UXG Pro will need a DHCP internet connection on port 1, although other options such as PPPoE and Static IP Address can be configured from the Other Configuration Options page.
If DHCP is being used, the UXG Pro will pick up an internet connection after about a minute.
Once completed, the UXG Pro will ask to be adopted.
Logging into the UXG Pro
The easiest way to set up the UXG Pro is to use a computer, plugged directly into port 2, one of the LAN ports.
Next, go to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser and follow the next steps. If you have visited the HTTP version, it'll tell you to visit the HTTPS page, with an explanation about the Connection is Not Private warning.
UXG Pro Set Inform
First, choose a name for the UXG Pro, then there are two options displayed. For adoption to HostiFi controllers, click on Other Configuration Options. The Next option is designed for adopting to a Cloud Key or using a UI Online Account.
In this page there is the option to choose other internet connection types, if required as well as testing the internet connection, firmware updates and Manually Connect to UniFi Network. For adopting to HostiFi, click on this last option.
Now, simply enter in the inform URL for your controller, which can be found from the HostiFi portal at app.hostifi.com. Make sure to use http:// not https:// and 8080.
Once the URL has been entered, click on Send.
Checking the UniFi Controller
Now log into your UniFi Controller and check for the UXG Pro, it will appear in the list and will say Click to Adopt. Click this and the UXG will start adopting the controller, which will take 2-3 mins.
After a few minutes, the UXG Pro status will change to Up to Date once successfully adopted and if an update is required it will state that.
The existing page for the UXG Pro can now be closed, it'll also display the following message.
