UniFi has a very useful feature available which allows you to remotely run internet speed tests from the UniFi Gateway directly. However, not all UniFi Gateways support this.

If the speed test option isn't showing up, it might be for a few reasons:

  • This option won't appear if you do not have a UXG, UDM or any other cloud gateway device, as it uses this for the speed test.

  • It is worth bearing in mind that the UXG Lite is the only device that doesn't support this.

  • Also, double-check the Dashboard Widgets settings. Sometimes the extra stats can be disabled, so make sure this is enabled otherwise the speed test widget will not show up.

Regarding the UXG Lite not supporting it, Ubiquiti has likely made this feature unavailable to help keep the device stable and performing as intended. Other more powerful UXG models such as the UXG-Max, UXG-Pro and UXG Enterprise support this feature.
