With UniFi 7.5.187, released in October 2023 Ubiquiti added support for Private Pre-Shared Keys (PPSK), allowing more flexibility when using multiple networks and different user groups.

As of April 2024 PPSK only works with WPA2 networks on 2.4GHz and 5GHz. At this time, WPA3 and 6GHz are not supported.

How to setup PPSK

First open UniFi and go to 'Settings'

Click on the network you wish to add PPSK to

Scroll down to the 'Advanced' section and click to enable PPSK

You can then add new passwords. All users connecting will connect to the same SSID but depending on the password entered, they can be routed to a different VLAN if required.

To check this is working, visit the 'Clients' tab in UniFi. In this example, this iPhone is connected to the Performance SSID but routed to the Guest network running on VLAN 3 using the PPSK feature.
